Reading Notes: Great Plains, Part B

Coyote and Snake by Katharine Berry Judson (1913)
  • Coyote was on the prairie looking for something when he heard a voice.
    • Maybe make the voice more booming.
  • Then, they told him to walk around the voice.
  • Coyote looked around and saw Snake.
  • Coyote wanted to make Snake move and did not want to walk around him, but Snake refused to move.
  • Snake told Coyote he will die if he did not move and Coyote did not believe him.
  • Snake then convinced Coyote to step over him and when he did, Snake bit him.
  • Soon, Coyote felt very sleepy and fell asleep, never waking up.
    • Add more details about him wandering around and eventually falling to his death. Maybe, have Snake said I am right.
